Esther Woolfson : Field Notes from a Hidden City

Esther Woolfson talks to Adam Ley-Lang from the EIBF 2013. In her new book “Field Notes from a Hidden City” she writes about the natural life of cities, in particular Aberdeen, and discusses her interest in the creatures we live with and yet do not consider, environmental issues and the difficulty modern life has and it’s effects on nature.

Brought up in Glasgow, Esther Woolfson studied Chinese at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Edinburgh University. Her critically acclaimed writing has been performed on Radio 4 and she has received many other awards for her Scottish short stories and nature writing.
