Author and Naturalist Mark Cocker discusses his book, Birds and People, featuring photography by David Tipling, and the very significant relationship our society has with birds, from using them as food to symbolic objects.

Mark Cocker has been writing about wildlife for nearly thirty years. Growing up in an area rich in wild life and natural beauty led to his later interest in naturalism. Cocker has written about this topic for several British newspapers and magazines including The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent and BBC Wildlife.
