Photographer Catherine Cameron has always been passionate about photography, but it remained a hobby while she focused on her career as a clinical nurse. Taking the plunge in 2007, Cameron decided to focus on her art and exhibited in Paris. She later took up a place on the Fine Art Photography course at Glasgow School of Art.
Cameron brings a new body of work, A Private Room, to The Royal Glasgow Institute, where she also received The Royal Glasgow Institute Exhibition Prize for a work by a recent Scottish Graduate, at last year’s annual exhibition. A Private Room explores Cameron’s interest in human relationships, and peeling back the layers, both physically in her compositions, and metaphorically, to reveal something more in depth.
A Private Room is on at The Royal Glasgow Institute until the 27th September 2014.
