Artist and writer David Burrows introduces the concept for his exhibition ‘In outer space there is no painting or sculpture’. The title is taken from a quote from artist Brion Gysin, who said this at the Nova Convention in New York, in 1978, which explored the idea of living in space in 20 years time. Burrow’s work is based on descriptions from scientists in science books that are used to explain the theories behind space to the everyday public.
In outer space there is no painting or sculpture is on in the Library Gallery, Summerhall, until the 24th May 2014.
