CCA presents This Might Be a Place for Hummingbirds, a show exploring the practices of two different artists, Glasgow-based Rebecca Wilcox, and Guatemalan artist Manuel Chavajay. Each practice is very different, but both explore the significance of working together and bringing their work to the same space.
Chavajay’s work is rooted in the life and heritage of his village San Pedro de Laguna, which is where the title of the exhibition comes from. Exploring Central American life allows Chavajay to unpack the traditions that surround the activities of the Central American people.
Rebecca Wilcox’s work is text and sound based, and looks at the experience of working closely with another artist, whilst also exploring the concerns that surround publication of work.
This Might Be a Place For Hummingbirds is on at CCA, Glasgow, until the 18th January 2014.
