The Rose Street Project
is a public ‘exhibition’ in a central city location, open to everyone visiting Edinburgh, day and night until early January. The invited artists are from a range of disciplines including illustration, ceramics, textiles and printmaking.
The result has been less about traditional Christmas display, but instead has created highly individual installations in a new, public context, demanding new and fresh approaches to the invited artists’ creative practices.
Nine artists have worked with Rose Street traders using shop front and window displays as galleries for their work over Christmas. Artists include: RA Ceramics, Anupa Gardner, Jyoti Sigouin, Sheila Masson, Fiona Hermse, Louise Smurthwaite, Tania Czajka, Astrid Jaekel and Izzy Bocchetti.
