Every year a series of works is selected from the various degree shows at Scotland’s art and architecture institutions, and exhibited in the Royal Scottish Academy in their New Contemporaries exhibition. This opportunity offers a platform for art graduates to show their work to a wide audience in a well known institution. As well as exhibiting the work of graduate artists, the RSA provides £40,000 worth of monetary, residency, studio and purchase prizes to help support the production of new work.
Robbie Hamilton (Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design), Usama Al Kindi (Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture), and Joe Hancock (Glasgow School of Art) discuss their work on show, the processes involved in creating it and what it means to be part of an exhibition like the New Contemporaries.
New Contemporaries 2015 is on at the Royal Scottish Academy until the 8th April.
